Alloy Wheel (Four Wheeler) Division

Alloy Wheel (Four Wheeler) Division

The Alloy Wheel 4W Division was established following the merger of three erstwhile joint venture entities with Kosei, Japan — Minda Kosei Aluminum Wheels Pvt. Ltd. (MKA), Kosei Minda Aluminum Company Pvt. Ltd. (KMA), and Kosei Minda Mould Pvt. Ltd. (KMM).

Our foray into the Alloy Wheel 4W business began in 2010 through a joint venture with Kosei, Japan, under KMA, with the first manufacturing facility set up in Chennai. This was further strengthened with a greenfield plant in Bawal through another JV entity. Until 2015, India was largely dependent on alloy wheel imports; with the commissioning of our Bawal plant, we pioneered the localization of alloy wheel manufacturing in the country.

Since then, demand has grown steadily — initially through import substitution and subsequently with the increasing penetration of alloy wheels in the Indian automotive market.

Today, Uno Minda operates four alloy wheel plants across Bawal, Gujarat, and Chennai, with a total installed capacity of ~4.8 million wheels per annum. In addition, a new state-of-the-art facility is under construction at Kharkhoda, further strengthening our leadership in this segment.
